How You'll Contribute
An Assessment Lead who excels in this role:
- Facilitates response to request for services, including the initial response, the assessment and referral process, the designation of appropriate level of care, admission into services and appropriate follow up activity.
- Conducts initial evaluation, initiates the assessment, documenting patient symptomology, functioning, needs and provides information to the MD for LOC determination.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills in assisting patients, physicians, visitors and coworkers in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Possesses clear knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and processes and EMTALA.
- Maintains all preadmission and admission paperwork with accuracy, completes all pre-certification with insurance companies.
- Ensures appropriate staffing for shift. Minimizes use of overtime. Assists in monitoring attendance.
- Educates and coaches staff and acts as point person for clinical decisions. Reports all issues and incidents to the Director of Assessment appropriately.
- Ensures staff has completed all needed documentation, call logging, insurance calls, and additional tasks prior to the end of shift.
Applicants should have a Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling (required) RN licensure may be used in place of master's degree or per state regulations. Additional requirements include:
- Current unencumbered Clinical or Social Work License. RN license may be accepted. Valid driver's license and a favorable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), along with proof of insurance when using own auto.
- CPR and De-escalation Training within 30 days
- Prior experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients. Must have strong clinical assessment skills.
