POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Project Engineer at LJA Land Development, you will be responsible for managing and executing engineering tasks that contribute to the planning and design of land development projects. You will conceptualize design approaches, coordinate project tasks, and ensure technical accuracy while supporting project managers and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams. This position offers opportunities for leadership growth and hands-on involvement in complex engineering assignments.

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

  • Conceptualizing the initial design approach for a major phase of a large project or managing the engineering work on a project of limited scope.
  • Planning, scheduling, conducting, or coordinating engineering work that involves conventional practices and complex design features.
  • Supporting Project Managers by serving as an Assistant Project Manager or Assistant Project Engineer.
  • Providing direction to less experienced engineers or technical support personnel on an as-needed basis.
  • Exercising independent judgment in the evaluation, selection, adaptation, and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Identifying additional information needed from internal clients and coordinating directly with them.
  • Making informed decisions regarding alternative procedures when project data or details are incomplete.
  • Ensuring the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of project deliverables while maintaining client satisfaction.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or application submitted and awaiting registration.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of post-graduate civil engineering experience.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.

IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE:

  • Experience supporting both design and project management phases of land development projects.
  • Ability to independently manage tasks and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
