This role does not involve managing 30 desks or executing district-mandated lesson plans. You will coach small cohorts of self-motivated students eager to accelerate their progress, explore subjects more deeply, and take ownership of their learning journey. If your success has come through non-traditional routes—competitive achievement, athletics, entrepreneurial ventures, or creative disciplines—and you understand how to convert ambition into measurable outcomes, this position translates your proven methods into student impact.

What You Will Be Doing

• Mentoring and inspiring students through consistent, daily interaction—coaching at a peer level rather than delivering lectures
• Leveraging adaptive learning technology and AI-driven platforms to enable individualized pacing for each student
• Facilitating small-group sessions centered on leadership development, life skills, and practical success frameworks
• Guiding students to identify personal strengths and broaden their goals via customized growth pathways
• Advancing Alpha's educational model through continuous contribution of data, observations, and innovative thinking
  
  

Basic Requirements

Performance Coach key responsibilities

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline
• Proven track record of exceptional achievement (examples: top academic distinctions, D1/Olympic-level athletics, national-level competitions, etc.)
• 3 years of direct experience working with K–8 students in mentoring, coaching, or teaching roles
• Excellent verbal communication and public speaking abilities
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
• Availability to work on-site in Miami, FL; Santa Barbara, CA; or San Francisco, CA

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $60 USD/hour, which equates to $120,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
