A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:
- Lead PS&E design and provide construction oversight for water and wastewater projects, including pipelines, treatment plants, distribution systems, sanitary sewer systems, lift stations, and discharge permits.
- Develop schematics and produce complete Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) for TxDOT and local government roadway and highway projects.
- Collaborate with leadership to deliver GEC/Program Management support for multiple agencies and TxDOT through all phases of project development.
- Manage and direct internal teams and external consultants on programming, funding, environmental document review, design and design reviews, cost estimating, scheduling, construction oversight, right-of-way, utilities, and long-term operations and maintenance.
- Bachelor of Science Degree, Civil Engineering
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer (Recently passing the PE Exam will be considered)
- A TEAM first attitude with a commitment to leading a team with Integrity, Responsibility, and Perseverance
- 4+ years of experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD, MS Office, and/or Geopak (or Open Roads)
- Some experience handling multiple deadlines.
- Effective communication skills to engage with upper management and engineering staff.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing work assignments and project needs, often on short notice.
- An open mind to alternative methods from what you have previously been taught
- Previous work experiences in a management capacity
- Experience with utility design (Electric, Gas, Drainage, Water, Wastewater)
- Experience with water distribution systems, treatment plants, sanitary sewer collection systems, lift stations.
- Experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, StormCAD, SAWS CPMS, CIVCAST, COSA PrimeLink
- Experience with TxRRC, TCEQ, FEMA, USACE, TXDOT and Municipal permitting requirements.
