Syracuse Jewish Family Services is looking for a Part Time Meals On Wheels Coordinator.
Are you an organized, people-oriented individual with food service experience who wants to contribute to your community as well as work and grow in a variety of skill areas?
Our friendly, mission-driven human services team is seeking a Meals on Wheels Coordinator for our kosher MOW program.
Job responsibilities to include:
KMOW meal packing oversight and/or implementation 3 times weekly in collaboration with the KMOW associate and Jewish Home dietary services; conduct intakes and reassessments with homebound clients and their families; maintain appropriate client and meals records; recruit/train/manage volunteer drivers; liaison with healthcare providers and Office for Aging to best serve nutritional and social services needs of client; assist with PR and program recruitment; deliver meals when necessary.
Required skills and attributes include excellent communication and “people” skills (including English proficiency); good computer skills; organization and ability to multitask; strong work ethic; broad interests and skills including enjoyment of food service-related and driving tasks as well as program-related tasks; “self-starter” as well as team player; compassion. The KMOW Coordinator must be able and willing to learn and adhere to Jewish dietary laws and safe food handling standards. Must have the following: Bachelor’s degree; driver’s license in good standing and ability to drive own car for occasional deliveries, in-home client visits, and errands (mileage is reimbursed); be able to lift 30 lbs. Position is half time with opportunities to add other responsibilities/hours.
