Job Description Summary

Position Responsibilities

  • Consistently prepares food meeting established standards for quality and quantity.
  • Assures taste-test and temperature control records are filled out each meal and problems are corrected.
  • Recognizes and performs duties which need to be done, although not directly assigned.
  • Follows instructions and learns from the Chef.
  • Contributes own ideas to improve services within the department.
  • Demonstrates initiative when preparing new recipes and assists in catering functions and special events.
  • Takes accurate temperature reading of all food items on service line to ensure they adhere to established guidelines.
  • Prepares garnishes for all - Rotates cycle
  • Maintains trayline hot food areas in a sanitary condition, following all standard procedures.
  • Cleans station, equipment, and utensils at the end of each meal according to procedures.
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of safety in the work area by lifting correctly, wiping up spills, using carts to transport items and other steps to avoid accidents.
  • Adheres to uniform policy for assigned areas.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Core: All other tasks as assigned., Core: Complies with current Hospital security and safety polices., Core: Demonstrates a consistent knowledge of food service sanitation. Ensures the practice of accepted / required techniques in food handling, preparation, service and holding for patients, employees, and guests., Core: Maintains self and work area in a clean, neat, safe and orderly manner. Practices infection control (hand washing and hygene accesories) for the protection of others and self., Core: Maintains Supervisor informed of all non-routine occurrences and upcoming requirements on a timely basis so they can be addressed with minimal impact to the patients, guests and staff., Core: Monitors all food items while on service line to ensure they adhere to established guidelines (i.e. monitors temperature and timing)., Core: Operates available equipment according to safety established procedures., Core: Prepares, seasons and cooks food following all established and ocassional requirements.
