Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities
- Understand and support the mission and values of ChargerREC
- Assist in the overall success and development of ChargerREC programs and facility operations of the Beckerman Recreation Center
- Understand, articulate, enforce, and comply with ChargerREC policies and procedures
- Serve as front line customer service representatives to members, guests, and visitors
- Provide a welcoming and inclusive environment to members, guests, participants, and fellow staff
- Effectively communicate to members, guests, participants, and fellow staff
- Arrive on time and prepared to all assigned shifts
- Ensure staff coverage for any assigned shifts which the employee cannot work
- Actively participate in meetings/trainings
- Complete required reports and checklists
- Assist with setup/breakdown for ChargerREC programs/operations and external events
- Serve as responder and/or support staff for emergencies as required by position and training
- Other duties as required
- Oversee the on-site operations of the Beckerman Recreation Center
- Supervise and lead on-site staff members
- Utilize critical thinking to resolve issues and support fellow staff
- Communicate with professional staff during non-business hours as needed
- Assist in membership and administrative operations and projects as assigned
- Effectively process memberships, sales, equipment rentals, and other customer service related transactions
- Complete general and assigned cleaning duties including compliance with PPE standards
- Assist in daily opening/closing of the facility
- Complete administrative tasks and projects as required
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Dependability to arrive on time and be prepared for assigned shifts
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service
- Willingness and ability to enforce policies
- Ability to complete several tasks at once with frequent interruption
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and resilience when needed
- Ability to demonstrate leadership when needed
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work in a diverse and inclusive environment
- Ability to provide a positive attitude and demonstrate a willingness to accept and improve upon constructive feedback from supervisors and professional staff
- Prior experience working with ChargerREC as a Graduate Assistant
- Ability to operate computer and membership software
- CPR/AED/First aid certification preferred. If not certified, certification/training will be provided to selected candidates
Work Environment
- Several hours on feet/walking around
- Moderate to loud noise
- Assisting in equipment moving and event setups requiring lifting exceeding 55lbs
- Ability to complete required cleaning and organization of fitness equipment
