Director of Strategic Administrative Services at NCAA
Job Function: This position is the CFO’s right-hand person, focused on keeping all key initiatives on schedule. This position will amplify the CFO’s strategic bandwidth by prioritizing execution and shielding focus, orchestrating cross-functional alignment across diverse administrative units, and embed cultural cohesion, stakeholder trust, and transformation momentum. The Director will serve as liaison among CFO direct reports and enterprise stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities
- Own and translate Administrative Services strategy into operational cadence, leading cross-functional project coordination, removing execution friction, and aligning all direct-report functions on priorities and business rhythm to ensure effective collaboration and progress.
- Drive and strengthen culture-building efforts by facilitating off-sites and team development activities, preparing agendas and content for leadership meetings, analyzing engagement survey results, and partnering with administrative services teams to design professional and team development programs.
- Work with Administrative Services departments to develop and track KPI’s, and progress against the CFO's organizational strategic goals.
- Establish and drive regular reporting routines using agreed-upon reporting templates, and presentation tools, and dashboards to communicate goals and project progress to the CFO.
- Develop and manage the CFO’s budget and work with Administration Services leaders to develop, review and present the overall administrative services budget to leadership on a regular basis.
- Develop strategic communications from the CFO, and Administrative Services, and drive internal storytelling as needed.
- Lead Administrative Services change management initiatives, while improving stakeholder engagement and trust measurably through communications and access.
- Prep the CFO for internal and external executive level meetings, and committee and Board meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Education Required Bachelor's degree required; Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in finance, operations, technology, strategy, or consulting.
- PMP or similar certification preferred.
- Experience in complex, matrixed environments (e.g., higher ed, athletics, nonprofit, government, or enterprise).
- Proven success driving strategic initiatives with or for C-suite leaders.
- Experience in organizational transformation or strategic change roles.
- Significant and demonstrable experience with PowerPoint and other visual communication mediums.
- Experience with DOMO, or other data visualization platforms preferred.
- High-level synthesis across finance, operations, technology, and HR.
- Change leadership, executive communications, and cultural fluency.
- Stakeholder engagement and inclusive governance.
- Operational rigor, EQ, and discretion.
- Estimated Travel Required <50%
- This position will be based out of the national office in Indianapolis, Indiana. Current work environment is hybrid; 3 days in the office and 2 days are remote.
