General Summary:
- Manages immigration software systems to compile, maintain, and process records for SEVIS (Student & Exchange Visitor Information System) reporting in coordination with University and federal requirements.
- Collects and analyzes data to support compliance, institutional reporting, faculty hiring processes, and to respond to various national and institutional data requests.
- Serves in the capacity of Designated School Official and Alternate Responsible Office.
Major Duties:
- Manages data integration to issue immigration documents for scholars and students.
- Coordinates with departments to collect required documentation, verify arrivals, conduct orientations, and assist in maintaining records for international faculty hiring processes.
- Manages immigration data processing and SEVIS submissions.
- Collaborates to ensure accurate data transactions.
- Serves as Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO), advising faculty scholars and students on immigration processes.
- Compiles, tracks, and analyzes international student and scholar data for government reporting.
- Maintains academic program classification codes to ensure compliance.
- Updates and manages immigration information in accordance with University standards.
- Assists leadership with other initiatives and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or two years’ college coursework in a related field from an accredited institution.
- Two year’s relevant experience.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with word-processing and spreadsheet software.
- Experience with using and querying databases.
- U. S. citizen or lawful permanent resident to meet the federal requirements to serve as a Designated School Official (for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security) and Alternate Responsible Officer (for the U.S. Department of State).
- Ability to pass routine background checks to maintain DSO and ARO authorization assigned by the Department of Homeland Security and Department of State.
