High School Diploma or equivalent required. Individual must be and/or have been the parent of an emotionally disturbed youth or an adult child. Experience in working with seriously emotionally or behaviorally disturbed children and adolescents required

As the Family Partner, the individual will implement family support services for emotionally disturbed children and adolescents. Person will provide support, information, and referral, follow-up and technical assistance to families and general consultation to staff on children and youth. Will develop and maintain data collection system indication the number of referrals, resources/services, unmet needs of families, and barriers to obtaining services for all interested parties. This position may require the employee to transport consumers in their personal vehicles, drive Andrews Center vehicles, or drive representing the Center and therefore must have current Texas driver's license and meet insurability criteria

Knowledge of child, adolescent and general behavioral therapy techniques, psycho-educational group techniques and crisis intervention techniques. Ability to operate independently and effectively in stressful family situations. Ability to function in treatment team capacity and interagency collaboration with referral sources. Ability to understand funding sources, financial issues, and interact appropriately with a variety of staff and professionals. Ability to work flexible time and extra hours. Ability to complete all required Quality Standards in compliance with DSHS. Ability to work with children and adolescents with MH disabilities, assess consumer needs, establish service plans, make productive referrals, advocate for consumers and families with outside agencies, and to work independently and effectively. Must be able to cope with frustration, to work non-judgmentally with consumers, and to respond to changing needs of consumers. Knowledge of and ability to work effectively with community resources. Knowledge of child behavioral interventions. Ability to work well with the interdisciplinary team, to use professional supervision, and to speak and write clearly.
