As directed by the Dining Room Manager or Food Service Manager, ensures residents have a wonderful dining experience by serving food and providing additional assistance as needed. Must maintain applicable health department transportation guidelines and all federal, state and local guidelines and laws pertaining to food service and preparation.

Job Description
Major Responsibilities:
- Prepares food under supervision for designated areas
- Runs and maintains all kitchen machinery in accordance to guidelines
- Rotates and labels all food items in designated area.
- Proficient in knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and sanitation guidelines set by the Department of Health
- May be asked to perform any of the following duties: salad prep, prep cook, breakfast cook, grille cook, banquet cook, receiving clerk, line cook, healthcare cook
- Must be able to operate kitchen equipment including oven, steamer, fryer, tilt skillet, steam jacketed kettle.
- Must meet all training requirements annually and maintain and successfully complete, all competencies, including other department specific training as required.
- Works in hospital and clinical environments. May work in extreme heat with hot materials. Must be able to utilize appropriate universal and specific precautions for protection from potential exposure to infectious or communicable diseases.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Must have 1 years advanced quality kitchen experience in a cooking position or worked as a Carlyle Place Utility for at least 6 months.
- Must be able to use visual near and distance acuity. Must have verbal ability to communicate in person and over the phone or radio. Must be able to assist co-workers in transfers and transport supplies, patients/residents, or equipment using good body mechanics. Must have functional range of motion of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spines, upper and lower extremities with a grip strength of 60-80 pounds, specific to the job class evaluation. Must be able to forward reach, overhead reach, bend, squat, kneel and change from one position to the other rapidly. Must be able to lift 25-60 lbs. and carry 25-50 pounds specific to job class evaluation. Must be able to tolerate high noise, busy atmospheres, and noxious odors. Must be able to work in noisy environments and be self-directed to complete jobs as ordered. Must be able to remain calm under stressful situations. Must be able to assess and respond to multiple situations simultaneously. Must be able to assist co-workers in multiple overlapping tasks simultaneously. Must be able to prioritize job tasks and organize workspace to be efficient and conducive to completing work tasks as assigned in a timely manner. If job class is identified as falling under POPE C, the individual must pass the cardiac recovery test.
