Job Description

As the Quality Assurance Manager, you will serve as the Management Representative for the site Quality Management System and play a critical role in shaping the future of our manufacturing operations. You will lead the Quality organization, develop and administer the site’s Quality Assurance Program, and support Manufacturing and cross-functional partners through disciplined application of quality standards, data-driven decision making, and modern quality technologies. This role will also champion innovation by driving the adoption of automation, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled tools to strengthen processes, improve performance, and move the business forward.

You will lead the facility’s preparation for and achievement of AS9100 certification, aligning systems, processes, and culture to meet world-class aerospace quality expectations. This position is ideal for a quality leader who thrives on building teams, elevating performance, and driving continuous improvement across all levels of the organization.

What is the Job Like?

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Quality organization, supporting Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Serve as the Management Representative for the QMS, ensuring compliance with ISO9001, API Q1, and guiding the facility toward AS9100 certification.
  • Develop and coordinate the administration of the site’s Quality Assurance Program, including test programs, inspection plans, and QA procedures that align with NOV’s global QA framework.
  • Build and develop a high-performing Quality team capable of executing operational excellence in both product and process quality.
  • Lead, motivate, and evaluate Quality staff to ensure strong engagement, capability, and performance.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for Quality personnel to expand skills and align with evolving business needs.
  • Monitor, review, and approve internal quality audits and assessments.
  • Coordinate customer, agency, and regulatory engagements including audits, surveys, and site visits.
  • Act as the primary liaison with customers on quality-related issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Champion process improvement initiatives, continually reviewing the QA system and implementing enhancements that reduce waste, lower costs, and improve efficiency.
  • Reinforce the use of modern Quality methods, digital tools, and AI-enabled analytics throughout the facility.
  • Monitor site-level quality performance metrics and collaboratively implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Establish QA specifications, standards, and requirements for materials, processes, and finished products.
  • Support Engineering in design reviews and new product introductions, ensuring quality and manufacturability requirements are met.
  • Support Procurement and Supply Chain to qualify suppliers and subcontractors and provide technical assistance to improve overall quality and reduce costs.
  • Maintain strong industry contacts and participate in trade shows and technical seminars as appropriate.
  • Maintain alignment with the global QA team regarding procedures, inspection requirements, and quality systems.
  • Manage the Quality department budget and administrative functions to ensure effective and efficient operation.
  • Comply with all NOV HSE policies and maintain a safe working environment.

Who’s Going to be Successful in this Job?

Qualifications And Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership and management experience, including 5 years in machining and electro-mechanical manufacturing.
  • Experience managing or supporting a certified QMS such as ISO9001 or API Q1. Experience with AS9100 requirements is highly preferred.
  • ASQ certifications preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Standards including ISO9001, API Q1, ABS, and AS9100.
  • Expertise in Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies. Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
  • Experience with ATEX or IECEx certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, engineering drawings, material specifications, and digital QMS tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
