Position Summary
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Quality Assurance Manager is the Engineered Cables division leader for the Quality Management System (QMS) and the champion for our "Zero Defect" culture. You will lead all aspects of quality for our custom-engineered cables, which are designed for the most demanding applications in the world—from mission-critical aerospace and defense programs to demanding harsh-environment industrial applications.
This role is responsible for ensuring absolute compliance with AS9100, ISO9001, and all customer/industry requirements. You will strategically manage the quality team to drive business-level results, focusing on the reduction of RMAs, improvement of first-pass yield, and partnering with all departments to build quality into every process.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) or a related technical field.
- 7+ years of progressive quality assurance experience in a complex manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of experience in a quality leadership or management role is required.
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident) due to ITAR regulations.
- Expert-level knowledge of AS9100D and ISO9001:2015 standards and direct experience leading customer and 3rd-party certification audits.
- Direct experience in the aerospace, defense, or similar high-reliability (e.g., space, medical, sub-sea) industry is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ITAR/EAR compliance requirements and their integration into a Quality Management System.
- Demonstrated ability to perform robust Root Cause Analysis (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) and implement effective, permanent corrective actions.
- Proven experience with core quality tools, including PPAP, FAI (First Article Inspection per AS9102), and APQP.
- Working knowledge of key industry standards (e.g., WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610, UL, CSA, DOD).
- Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) certification is strongly preferred.
- Must be an analytical thinker with the ability to interface directly with customer engineering and quality resources.

- Lead, maintain, and continually improve the AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management System, ensuring all business unit certifications are audit-ready at all times.
- Manage the business unit's internal audit program and the calibration system to ensure full compliance with QMS standards.
- Lead and mentor the quality team (inspectors, engineers, technicians), setting clear expectations, managing performance, and fostering professional growth and cross-training.
- Serve as the primary quality point of contact for customers and regulatory bodies, confidently leading customer audits, program reviews, and communications on all quality-related matters.
- Oversee the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA/CAR) process, ensuring robust root cause analysis and effective, permanent solutions to reduce RMAs and internal non-conformances.
- Lead the Material Review Board (MRB) process to ensure timely and proper disposition of all non-conforming material, both internal and supplier-caused.
- Define, track, and visibly report on key Quality KPIs (e.g., Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ), RMA rate, First Pass Yield, Scrap) and use this data to drive strategic improvement initiatives that impact Revenue & EBITDA.
- Actively participate in contract review to ensure all quality, technical, and compliance requirements are identified, understood, and achievable before acceptance.
- Partner with Supply Chain to manage the Supplier Quality program, including supplier audits, performance scorecards, ensuring proper flow-down of customer requirements, and ensuring timely resolution of supplier corrective actions (SCARs).
- Collaborate with Engineering on New Product Introduction (NPI), leading all quality planning (APQP), FAI activities, and development of inspection and test plans.
- Champion a business unit-wide "Built-in Quality" culture, holding all departments accountable for their role in quality and leading by example with a positive, engaged, and "get stuff done" attitude.
