The Entry-Level Case Manager will provide holistic case management services to CLA SoCal legal services clients. Entry-Level Case Managers will provide referrals, linkages to other systems, support, and advocacy while honoring client’s autonomy and self-determination. This full-time, hybrid, non-exempt position reports to the Supervising Case Manager for the unit in which they are assigned.

This full-time, hybrid, non-exempt position reports to the Supervising Case Manager for the unit in which they are assigned.
Responsibilities
- Dependent on grant, provide services to a specific client population & assist with grant reporting and tracking grant deliverables.
- Conduct bio-psycho-social assessments and develop individualized case plans based on client needs.
- Provide a full range of case management services, including referrals, warm handoffs, reassessments, and progress monitoring.
- Empower clients to participate in goal setting and case planning while supporting their autonomy and restoring a sense of control.
- Maintain regular contact with clients, providing emotional support during legal proceedings and brief crisis intervention as needed.
- Build and maintain rapport with clients, legal teams, and community partners, providing trauma-informed guidance and consultation.
- Observe confidentiality of the attorney-client relationship and ensure professional documentation in the Case Management System.
- Identify gaps in community services, contribute to service development, and evaluate the availability and effectiveness of supportive services.
- Travel to meet clients safely, attend community outreach events, and rotate among CLA offices (Santa Ana, Norwalk, Compton) as required and when needed.
- Provide case management perspective trauma responsive education to legal team.
- Provide consultation and in-service training to staff.
- Attend in community engagement, outreach initiatives, and events to strengthen relationships and expand access to services.
- Perform other duties as required to meet the needs of the organization.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Two years’ experience as a case manager or social worker - Preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency – Preferred.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, active insurance policy or other ability to travel frequently in and around the service area for representation and to engage with clients and community partners - Required.
- Articulate, creative, and passionate case manager with excellent written and oral communication skills, computer skills, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong personal work ethic, initiative, and ability to organize time, and manage diverse activities with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills, client communication skills and comfort working with indigent clients.
- Strong technical skills; including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Demonstrate a desire to learn, share knowledge, and collaborate effectively with team members.
- Maintain an empathetic, energetic, and trauma-informed approach when working with clients.
- Ability to model and commit CLA’s values and mission. – Required.
- 35-hour workweek - some positions may work weekends or evenings.
