The HR Generalist performs routine and specialized HR administrative tasks that support day‑to‑day site operations, including employee data maintenance, forms processing, and coordination of HR workflows.

This role supports union and non‑union teams through accurate documentation, recordkeeping, and preparation of materials for employee relations and labor‑related activities. The position also plays a key role in organizing and validating payroll‑related information to ensure timely, accurate processing for U.S. and Canadian employees

Essential Functions

  • Process HR transactions such as new hires, status changes, terminations, pay changes, and job changes, ensuring timely entry into HR and payroll systems.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical employee files, including union and non‑union documentation, attendance records, corrective actions, and training records.
  • Collect, review, and reconcile timekeeping data, wage changes, and other payroll inputs; coordinate with payroll to support accurate and on‑time processing for U.S. and Canadian locations.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding administration, including preparation of offer packets, new‑hire paperwork, orientation materials, access requests, and termination checklists.
  • Assist with benefits and leave administration by processing forms, updating records, routing documentation, and maintaining tracking logs.
  • Draft and distribute routine HR communications, memos, and notices; provide basic information to employees on HR processes and direct more complex questions to senior HR staff.
  • Generate and update standard HR reports and spreadsheets (headcount, attendance, overtime, employee changes) for internal use and audits.
  • Schedule HR‑related meetings, interviews, and trainings; coordinate logistics, materials, and follow‑up documentation.
  • Assist SR. HR Generalist in posting open positions and screening applicants.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
  • 2-4 years of Human Resources administration required.
  • HRIS/ Payroll system maintenance preferred.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  • Experience with MS Office - Word, Excel (expert level working knowledge preferred), Access, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Proficient with HRIS software, specifically BambooHR and ADP Workforce Now.
  • Bi-Lingual preferred but not required.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, laptop use, etc.
