We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Utilities Operator to join our team at the Cedar Rapids production facility. This role is critical to ensuring the reliable operation of our utilities infrastructure, including high-pressure boilers, compressed air systems, chillers, fire protection systems, and water treatment processes.

We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Utilities Operator to join our team at the Cedar Rapids production facility. This role is critical to ensuring the reliable operation of our utilities infrastructure, including high-pressure boilers, compressed air systems, chillers, fire protection systems, and water treatment processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain three high-pressure boilers in compliance with legal and safety standards.
- Monitor and troubleshoot utilities systems using Data Historian, HMIs, and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
- Collect and analyze samples (liquid and solid waste), recording key metrics such as flow rates, temperature, pH, and chemical dosing.
- Support maintenance activities and assist with mobile equipment operation (e.g., forklift, bobcat, cherry picker).
- Participate in capital and expense project development with engineering teams.
- Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting of valves, pumps, hoses, and related equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety at transfer points and other critical areas.
- Collaborate with team members to define best practices, develop SOPs, and drive continuous improvement.
- Rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, in a 24/7 operational environment.
- Provide shift coverage as needed for team members.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in an industrial plant or utilities environment.
- Strong understanding of safety and environmental regulations.
- Physically capable of climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in confined spaces.
- Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, and other relevant systems.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable leading discussions and contributing to team-based decision-making.
