Summary

The Patient Safety Officer (PSO) is responsible for forward facing initiatives around Patient Safety and

organizational quality. The PSO acts as the subject matter expert in high reliability by reviewing process design to

ensure the principles of high reliability will be incorporated into daily operations. This position conducts proactive

and reactive risk assessments and analyses to include Root Cause Analysis, Apparent Cause Analysis, Failure Mode

Effects Analysis, and Common Cause Analysis. The PSO is dedicated to leading and supporting quality and safety

performance improvement initiatives through an interprofessional environment with administrative leadership

and frontline staff in our efforts to achieve zero harm.

Other Information

    ○ Must have clinical knowledge to conduct thorough investigations of patient safety events.

    ○ Must demonstrate critical thinking skills and ability to analyze clinical data.

    ○ Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact); Exceptional Verbal (e.g., Public Speaking);

    ○ Analytical; Mathematics; Medical Terms; Research; Statistical; P.C

      ○ Active Clinical (RN, APN/PA, MD, RT, PharmD, etc) License: Current Arkansas practicing license in

      good standing, Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred.

        ○ Certified Professional Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) and/or

        ○ Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) and/or

        ○ Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality

          ○ Three To Five Years Clinical Practice Experience Preferred

          This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
