Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This position will support general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, intercompany accounting, fixed asset management, sales tax reporting, audit preparation, and financial analysis activities for a growing multi-entity organization.

The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and eager to grow professionally in a fast-paced accounting environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

General Ledger & Reconciliations

  • Prepare and reconcile intercompany general ledger accounts
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and reconciling items

Fixed Assets & Production Accounting

  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and related accounting records
  • Assist with capitalization and depreciation activities
  • Support accounting activities related to production and operational accounts

Sales Tax & Compliance

  • Prepare and review sales and use tax filings
  • Maintain supporting documentation for tax reporting
  • Assist with compliance reporting and regulatory requirements

Audit & Financial Support

  • Coordinate audit requests and prepare supporting schedules for external CPA firms and regulatory agencies
  • Assist with annual financial audits and reviews
  • Support preparation of financial reports and management analysis

Analysis & Reporting

  • Perform statistical and financial data analysis
  • Prepare reports using Excel, PowerBI, and accounting software
  • Assist with identifying trends, variances, and process improvements

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2–5 years of accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and formulas
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Experience in the construction industry

Preferred

  • Experience with multi-entity accounting environments
  • Fixed asset accounting experience
  • Sales tax filing experience
  • ERP/accounting software experience
  • Experience supporting external audits
