Lockheed Martin seeks an Infrared Payload (IRPL) IPT Program Manager who is responsible for technical, cost and schedule of an integrated cross functional product team delivering the IRPL portion of the SDA TRKT3 Missile Warning Missile Defense (MW/MD) program. The SDA TRKT3 program is responsible for delivering 18 Low Earth Orbit Missile Tracking Satellites, divided into 2 constellation planes.

The IRPL IPT Lead is critical to the success of the TRKT3 program. They provide authoritative technical and programmatic direction and execution for all IRPL- related engineering and production activities on a schedule-centric, firm fixed price program. The IRPL IPT scope includes overseeing the subcontracted (General Atomics) Infrared Payload, which includes but is not limited to: telescope, filter wheel, focal plane, cryocooler, electronics, radiators, and structures, as well as management and execution of LM in-house developed Space Based Mission Processing (SBMP) algorithms to be furnished to General Atomics. SBPM is a key strategic area for LM, and the role includes the need for seamless interaction with the Internal Research and Development (IRAD) team that is providing a subset of the algorithms in support of the TRKT3 program (and others). The IRPL IPT Lead ensures on-time and on-cost hardware and circuitware/algorithm delivery, that meet the performance requirements for the 18 vehicles. The IRPL IPT lead will need to ensure rapid resolution of cross team internally and externally to ensure seamless coordination with all partners to meet program cost, schedule, and technical objectives. Note that the IRPL IPT lead will be supported by a Subcontract Manager, Subcontract administrator, and technical staff.

The IRPL IPT Lead will act as the Program leader for their discipline, drive technical and program decisions, and keep the team aligned with and executing to the SOW, Technical Requirements, Integrated Master Schedule, and Cost baselines consistent with the program’s Firm Fixed Price (FFP) requirements.

This is a high-visibility position that offers an opportunity to quickly make a significant impact on the future of Transport, Tracking, and Warning (TT&W) and LM Space.

This position requires a high level of technical and business acumen to balance priorities, drive issue prevention/resolution, and clearly communicate status and needs to our customers/partners, and with both Lockheed Martin and supplier executives.

This position is expected to require domestic travel less than 15%.
