SENIOR BOARD LIAISON

Reports to: Executive Liaison Officer

Status: Regular, Full-time, Non-exempt

Location: Anchorage, AK

JOB SUMMARY: Serve as a pivotal resource to the Aleut Board of Directors by delivering comprehensive, discreet, and highly skilled administrative support. This role demands exceptional attention to detail, proactive coordination, and adept communication to ensure seamless execution of Board activities. A strong emphasis is placed on facilitating timely responses, fostering effective collaboration, and resolving challenges with professionalism and efficiency.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Uphold and exemplify the core values of The Aleut Corporation—honesty, integrity, accountability, respect, and perseverance.
  • Deliver high-level support by preparing and synthesizing Board reports and presentations through thorough research and analysis.
  • Strategically plan, coordinate, and schedule all Board meetings, teleconferences, and conferences to ensure optimal participation and efficiency.
  • Maintain official corporate records and documents in partnership with the General Counsel, safeguarding confidential and sensitive information.
  • Oversee travel and lodging logistics for the Board and its committees, ensuring seamless arrangements.
  • Lead the RFP process for major meetings and events, guaranteeing effective vendor selection and execution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Board member requests, inquiries, and requirements, facilitating timely and effective resolutions.
  • Act as a communication conduit between Executive Leadership and the Board of Directors, fostering alignment and transparency.
  • Manage all aspects of Board and committee meeting logistics, including scheduling, materials preparation, and recordkeeping.
  • Support the General Counsel in drafting and maintaining compliant corporate notices, agendas, minutes, memoranda, and resolutions.
  • Attend Board and committee meetings, providing accurate documentation and records.
  • Administer and update Board portal content, including packets, resources, and calendars, to ensure accessibility and accuracy.
  • Monitor and reconcile Board expenses, contribute to annual budget development, and process stipend payments promptly.
  • Execute additional duties and special projects with professionalism and discretion.

  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of Aleut, its subsidiaries, affiliated non-profits, and regional resources.
  • Maintains exemplary standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and reliability in executing complex responsibilities.
  • Analyzes multifaceted issues, contributing to long-term organizational planning and budgeting with precise attention to detail.
  • Respects and integrates regional and organizational values, especially those of Alaska Native corporations, and consistently upholds ethical principles and fairness.
  • Expertly optimizes expense reconciliation, records management, and board portal operations to ensure efficiency and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficient in Adobe and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook.
  • Displays initiative, operates independently, and excels in high-responsibility environments.
  • Possesses in-depth understanding of board governance, including expertise in Robert’s Rules of Order and compliance management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in business, administration, or related field; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • (5) years of professional office support experience, with a strong preference for executive-level support experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, administration, or related field.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • General office demands.
  • Must be able to travel at least 10% of the time.
  • Must have ability to maintain assigned work hours in a 40+ work hour environment.
  • Must be able to up to 15 lbs at times.
