Cook at Owl's Nest Recovery

Responsibilities include coordinating the preparation and service of meals; assisting in the general duties in the kitchen and dining areas of the facility including cleaning, organization, and preparing trays; and working closely and cooperatively with other dietary employees.

Education: High school diploma or GED

Experience: At least two years of experience as a cook, or a combination of education and experience relevant to position. Must be able to use kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, mixers and dishwashers; knowledge of the essential hygiene factors involved in food preparation; knowledge of cleansing and the appropriate methods of cleansing a variety of surfaces. Competent with Department of Health expectations, as well as any Fire Marshall related requirements.

Other: Must pass background check and drug test. Must have valid food handler’s permit prior to starting job. Must be able to work alone or with others. Must be punctual and reliable. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to work weekends and holidays. Basic or general knowledge of applicable standards and regulations in kitchen and health care settings. Must have the ability to maintain self-control in volatile situations.
