Job Summary
To assemble, bond, fill and sand a variety of components to a variety of composite parts. To complete
interior installation of equipment in aircraft. Interior Technician B may be required to perform the duties
and essential functions of Interior Technician C.
Job Responsibilities
- Works from aircraft orders, production inspection records, engineering orders, manufacturing
planning, and complete knowledge of all interior installations to determine and plan, according to
requirements, the interior installations and adjustments of upholstery, furniture, and accessories
per standard shop practices.
- Plans and performs any layout requirements and investigates installation details for unique or first
time interior installations.
- Works interior repair squawks as needed to support delivery schedules.
- Bonds and assembles composite parts before and for upholstery with components using
assembly jigs and shop aids with the use of rivets, fasteners, screws and liquid adhesive. Applies
upholstery when required.
- Keeps work area clean emphasizing cleanliness of the aircraft interior and its protection using
protective covers on windows, seats, floors, etc., during and after installation.
- Requires using a variety of hand and power tools and basic measuring instruments.
- Responsible for quality of own work.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education
Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or bronze level WorkKeys certification or
trades training to apply simple arithmetic and measuring devices. Ability to interpret blueprints and simple
drawings
Experience
Over 3-5 years of aircraft interiors installation, upholstery, bench upholstery or related experience.
Working Conditions
Good working conditions with an occasional exposure to fumes, heat, and cold
