Required Qualifications:
- Advanced Nursing Degree or Master's Degree required.
- Current Texas State Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) license or PA license.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (CPR), American Heart Association.
- Experience in the specialty area 2-3 years preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and market services effectively.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong team-oriented approach and interdepartmental collaboration based on CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients by rounding on patients and identify potential issues physician will need to address.
- Communicated with primary team (ICU or Hospitalist) to coordinate plan of care.
- Ensure appropriate orders are entered after discussing plan of care with physician.
- Communicate with clinic staff to make sure patients have required follow-up scheduled.
- Assist with IR and OR procedures.
- Start progress notes.
- Understand vascular neurosurgery protocols
