Collects patient clinical and demographic data and insurance or payer information, verifies payer coverage, and obtains physician orders. Arranges for support services and ensures written orders for homecare are obtained or requests an RN to take verbal orders when needed. Oversees secretarial staff to assure accurate data entry, appropriate phone answering, management of clinical records, and provision of clinical records when requested. Ensures appropriate staff coverage within the agency and coordinates referrals to maintain efficient operations. Enters referrals into the computer, verifies required information prior to admission, and maintains accurate reference files. Performs and documents payer verification process, verifying Medicare eligibility coverage and insurance or self-pay verification for patients. Functions as liaison between clinicians in facilities and clinical teams to ensure timely patient scheduling and tracks the status of all patient referrals. Maintains logs for patients who are hospitalized or in skilled facilities, new and resumption of care referrals, etc. Liaises with the central billing office to troubleshoot billing issues and ensure necessary items are completed for timely billing. Monitors and supervises daily clerical operations, ensuring duties are performed accurately and timely. Assigns and delegates responsibility to staff, participates in interviews, orientation, and evaluations. Coordinates receipt of referrals by conducting initial phone evaluations for appropriateness and acceptance of home health services. Other duties as assigned.

- 1+ experience [Preferred]
Additional Information
- 1 year experience in obtaining Authorizations
- Bilingual is a plus
- 1 year of medical office experience

Pay Range
$16.63 - $26.60
