What Will You Do

As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will:

  • Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
  • Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
  • Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
  • Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
  • Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
  • Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
  • Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.

This position will work one week and have one week off. 20 hours scheduled week on per following schedule:

Monday 7:45am-4:30pm, Tuesday 7:45am-3:15pm, Wednesday 7:45am-4:30pm, Thursday 7:45am-4:30pm, and Friday 7:45am-4:30pm. Schedule, including week off, is subject to change to meet clinic needs.

The Outpatient Spine Rehabilitation Program at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center provides comprehensive, non-surgical care and post-operative recovery for back and neck pain. The integrated program coordinates care across physical therapists, pain management specialists, and spine surgeons to improve mobility. Rehabilitation utilizes a multidisciplinary approach with a focus on minimally invasive and customized physical therapy.

We are Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Must sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other team member, when available.
  • Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case- by -case basis.
  • Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine-hand manipulation skills.
  • Will be exposed to the following hazards on a frequent basis: mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood and body fluids. Will be required to wear protective clothing and equipment as needed.
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
