Position Overview
Cornerstone is seeking a Computer Scientist to support the National Space Intelligence Center (NSIC), 4th Intelligence Analysis Squadron (4 IAS), Non-Earth Imagery (NEI) Flight. Personnel supporting this effort will provide scientific computing, algorithm development, software engineering, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and technical analysis support for highly classified space intelligence missions.
The selected candidate will leverage expertise in software development, scientific programming, computational analysis, modeling and simulation, and advanced analytics to support image exploitation, data processing, mission applications, and intelligence production activities. Personnel will work closely with Government scientists, engineers, intelligence analysts, and software developers to develop innovative solutions supporting national security objectives and emerging intelligence requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop software solutions, analytical tools, and technical capabilities supporting Non-Earth Imagery (NEI) mission requirements.
- Design, develop, test, and implement algorithms supporting image exploitation, data processing, automation, and intelligence analysis activities.
- Perform scientific computing, modeling, simulation, and data analysis to support mission objectives.
- Support research, development, testing, and evaluation of advanced analytical methodologies and technologies.
- Develop scripts, software applications, automation tools, and data processing workflows.
- Apply artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced analytics techniques to mission challenges where applicable.
- Support validation, testing, and transition of technical solutions into operational environments.
- Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and mission-relevant information.
- Develop technical reports, software documentation, analytical assessments, and briefing materials.
- Collaborate with Government personnel, engineers, scientists, and mission partners to address emerging intelligence and technical requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting software development, scientific computing, data science, engineering analysis, modeling and simulation, or related technical disciplines.
- Experience developing software using Python, C++, Java, MATLAB, or similar programming languages.
- Experience supporting software design, testing, debugging, and implementation activities.
- Experience performing technical analysis, data analysis, or computational problem solving.
- Experience supporting research, engineering, scientific, or operational mission environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting NASIC, NSIC, NGA, NRO, AFRL, USSF, or other Intelligence Community organizations.
- Experience supporting image science, image processing, computer vision, remote sensing, or sensor exploitation activities.
- Experience applying machine learning, artificial intelligence, neural networks, or advanced analytics techniques.
- Experience with MATLAB, TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV, Scikit-Learn, or similar scientific and analytical frameworks.
- Experience supporting modeling and simulation efforts within defense or intelligence environments.
- Experience supporting Special Access Program (SAP) environments.
- Experience working with large-scale data processing, automation systems, and mission applications.
- Experience supporting space intelligence, foreign space systems analysis, or counterspace mission areas.
Salary
$145,000
The salary listed represents the anticipated starting salary range for qualified candidates. Higher compensation may be offered based on directly relevant experience, mission expertise, technical qualifications, certifications, education, and clearance level.
