International Sales & Distribution Intern at NEON Rated

Date: 10 hours ago
City: Los Angeles, CA
Contract type: Part time

We're now accepting applications for Fall 2026 International Sales & Distribution Interns in our Los Angeles office.

NEON internships are built around real work, the kind that actually appears in the world and moves the needle for films we believe in. For students looking to break into the industry, there's no better place to learn how independent film travels globally, build meaningful connections, and get mentored by people who genuinely love what they do.

This internship is part of NEON's Undergraduate Internship Program, which gives you more than a single-team experience. Beyond working closely with your International Sales & Distribution colleagues, you'll take part in structured programming, get cross-functional exposure across the company, and go through professional development alongside a cohort of fellow interns.

What makes the NEON internship different

  • Dive Deep — Get practical experience across film distribution, from marketing and publicity to acquisitions, digital distribution, and theatrical sales.
  • Find Your Fit — We tailor your internship to your interests, placing you on projects that actually inspire you.
  • Become Part of the Team — You'll work alongside industry veterans who are serious about mentoring the next generation.

What you'll gain: Hands-on industry experience, behind-the-scenes insight into how films reach audiences around the world, professional connections that outlast the semester, and the confidence to take on whatever comes next.

The NEON International Saled & Distribution department covers acquisitions, sales, distribution, marketing, and publicity for all the film titles we represent worldwide rights for. Here are a few examples of tasks you can expect as an intern with the International team:

  • Sales market support: help track competitive projects, screening RSVP lists and link requests, generating availability listings, helping with the market shipment and office set-up, and (during the American Film Market in November) assist with our sales office during the market
  • Box Office research: pulling box office reports weekly for the independent international distribution landscape, and for evaluating individual projects
  • Script Evaluation: reading scripts and writing coverage, learning how to evaluate with international sales value in mind
  • Marketing/Publicity: updating and tracking international festival requests, compiling international reviews and press breaks, updating grids of new marketing assets, and tracking/reviewing localized artwork
  • Other research/support as needed: i.e. research on a specific territory, film, or talent
  • NEON all-intern tasks: partake in team duties such as office support, film presentations, social sweeps, festival review coverage, and special events staffing
