We are currently seeking an experienced Combo Welder to join our team.

Position Summary

The Combo Welder will perform welding and fitting duties on mechanical piping systems, structural supports, and related fabrication work. This role requires experience with multiple welding processes, including GMAW, SMAW, GTAW/TIG, and 6G welding, with the ability to work from drawings, specifications, and field direction.

The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-minded, and able to produce quality welds in a fast-paced commercial and industrial mechanical construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform welding using multiple processes, including GMAW, SMAW, GTAW/TIG
  • Perform 6G welding as required by project specifications
  • Weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and other piping materials as required
  • Fit and fabricate piping systems, supports, and related components
  • Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, spool sheets, and welding symbols
  • Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, beveling, and fitting as needed
  • Perform work in accordance with project specifications, code requirements, and company standards
  • Inspect completed welds for quality and accuracy
  • Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in a safe and organized manner
  • Follow all IMCOR safety policies and jobsite requirements
  • Work with foremen, superintendents, and other trades to complete work efficiently and professionally

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Combo Welder in commercial, industrial, or mechanical construction
  • Experience with GMAW, SMAW, GTAW/TIG, and STIC welding
  • Experience welding pipe is strongly preferred
  • Ability to pass weld tests as required by project specifications
  • Knowledge of welding procedures, materials, and safety practices
  • Ability to read blueprints, isometric drawings, and welding symbols
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be dependable and able to report to work as scheduled
  • Ability to work in varying jobsite conditions, including standing, bending, lifting, climbing, and working outdoors as needed
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
  • Current welding certifications are a plus

  • Mechanical piping systems

  • Carbon steel and stainless steel welding
  • 6G welding - Pass Pipe Test
  • GTAW/TIG welding
  • GMAW and SMAW welding
  • Fabrication shop and field welding experience
  • Working on commercial or industrial construction projects
