Principal Cribl Engineer at LiquidKinetics
LiquidKinetics is seeking an experienced Principal Cribl Engineer specializing in Observability to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of data routing and processing solutions within our observability platforms. This senior role involves architecting scalable Cribl infrastructure, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance data visibility, and driving best practices in data management to support real-time analytics and monitoring.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Cribl Stream, log and metrics data pipelines, and observability frameworks, with proven leadership experience in complex environments. This position offers the opportunity to influence the future of observability engineering within a mission-critical and fast-paced organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and deployment of Cribl streaming solutions to handle large-scale observability data.
- Design and implement efficient data routing, transformation, and shaping rules to optimize data flow and storage.
- Collaborate with engineering, security, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration with monitoring and alerting platforms.
- Establish and enforce best practices for observability data pipelines, quality, and security.
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to Cribl infrastructure and data ingestion.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Document architecture designs, processes, and configurations to support knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI security clearance is preferred.
- Extensive experience with Cribl Stream and observability data pipelines.
- Strong expertise in designing, implementing, and managing large-scale data routing and transformation systems.
- Solid understanding of observability concepts, including metrics, logs, traces, and related monitoring tools.
- Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring technical teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities to troubleshoot complex data infrastructure challenges.
- Strong communication skills capable of conveying complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience integrating Cribl with platforms such as Splunk, Elasticsearch, or other observability tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with security best practices in data processing environments.
