The Quality Coordinator supports the Quality and Risk Management Department in promoting patient safety, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement initiatives throughout the hospital. This position assists with medical record audits, risk management activities, data collection and analysis, performance improvement monitoring, and preparation of reports related to quality outcomes and regulatory standards in a behavioral health setting.

The Quality Coordinator works collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff to ensure accurate documentation, identify trends and opportunities for improvement, and support a culture of safety and continuous quality improvement.

*Work Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

*Pay Range: $23/hr. to $28/hr.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with quality assurance and risk management activities throughout the hospital.
  • Conduct medical record audits to evaluate compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and hospital standards.
  • Collect, abstract, analyze, and maintain quality and performance improvement data.
  • Prepare reports, summaries, graphs, and presentations related to quality indicators, patient safety events, and performance improvement activities.
  • Monitor and track performance improvement initiatives and corrective action plans.
  • Assist with incident reporting review, trending, and follow-up activities.
  • Support regulatory readiness efforts related to state, federal, and accreditation standards.
  • Participate in committees and meetings related to quality improvement, risk management, and patient safety.
  • Maintain databases, logs, and documentation required for departmental operations.
  • Assist with policy review and updates as directed.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to obtain necessary data and support quality initiatives.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of patient information in accordance with HIPAA and hospital policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Quality & Risk Management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, psychology, public health, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare quality, risk management, medical records, compliance, or behavioral health preferred.
  • Knowledge of performance improvement principles and regulatory standards preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collect, interpret, and present data accurately.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
