Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.

  • Direct experience working in a wind tunnel technical testing environment.
  • Desire to work hands-on in a laboratory environment.
  • Experience in design with 3-D Solid Modeling CAD systems (Catia, SolidWorks).

You will be the Aeronautical Engineer Sr - Wind Tunnel Operation for the Low‑speed 2 Wind Tunnel (L2WT) Team which is responsible for advancing aerodynamic testing capabilities.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Aeronautical Engineer Sr - Wind Tunnel Operation you will be responsible for leading a small, high‑impact team that designs, tests, and delivers aerodynamic data for advanced development programs.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

Develop innovative, affordable testing approaches that meet customer objectives.

Design rapid‑prototype wind‑tunnel models and support hardware using the digital‑twin CATIA model.

Integrate, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation, actuation devices, and data‑acquisition electronics.

Prepare, execute, and document test plans in accordance with customer requirements.

Continuously improve data‑acquisition, motion‑control, and pressure‑measurement systems.

Further Information About This Opportunity

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.

  • Experience with hands-on hardware and wiring in a lab environment.
  • Ability to develop and effectively communicate clear technical presentations for customers and suppliers.
  • Microsoft Office Skills - Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Basic knowledge of Fluid Mechanics and Aerodynamics.
