SUMMARY

A Miami-based real estate developer is seeking an experienced Senior Project Architect to join its in-house development team. This individual will play a hands-on role in the preparation, coordination, and production of construction documents for high-rise residential, mixed-use, hospitality, and commercial projects.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of architectural experience, including serving as the lead architect on complex high-rise developments. Unlike a traditional project management role, this position requires active involvement in producing and implementing construction drawings, coordinating consultants, and ensuring that design intent is accurately translated into permit and construction documents.

Candidates must possess extensive South Florida experience and a strong understanding of local building codes, permitting requirements, construction practices, and municipal review processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Produce, develop, and coordinate architectural construction documents for high-rise and large-scale development projects.

· Lead the preparation and implementation of construction drawings from design development through permit and construction phases.

· Coordinate architectural, structural, MEP, civil, landscape, and specialty consultant drawings.

· Review and incorporate consultant information into coordinated drawing sets.

· Ensure construction documents comply with Florida Building Code, Miami-Dade County requirements, zoning regulations, accessibility standards, and life-safety requirements.

· Manage permit submissions and responses to plan review comments.

· Work directly with ownership, development managers, consultants, and contractors throughout the design and construction process.

· Perform constructability reviews and identify design conflicts prior to drawing issuance.

· Review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and field conditions during construction.

· Participate in value engineering and design optimization efforts.

· Conduct site visits and assist in resolving design and construction-related issues.

· Maintain project schedules and coordinate drawing production to meet development milestones.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Professional degree in Architecture.

· Licensed Architect preferred.

· Minimum 10 years of architectural experience with significant involvement in construction document production.

· Experience serving as the Lead Architect or Project Architect on high-rise residential, mixed-use, hospitality, or commercial projects.

· Extensive experience preparing and coordinating construction drawings.

· Strong knowledge of building systems, construction methods, and architectural detailing.

· Thorough understanding of South Florida permitting processes and regulatory requirements.

· In-depth knowledge of the Florida Building Code, Miami-Dade County requirements, and local municipal review processes.

· Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.

· Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills.

· Experience working directly for a real estate developer preferred.

· Experience with luxury condominium, hospitality, and mixed-use high-rise projects preferred.

· Familiarity with coastal construction requirements, hurricane-resistant design, and flood-zone regulations.

· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced development environment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, technical reports, and regulatory requirements.

· Ability to prepare professional correspondence, reports, and construction-related documentation.

· Ability to effectively communicate technical information to ownership, consultants, contractors, and government agencies.

REASONING ABILITY

· Ability to apply advanced architectural and technical expertise to complex development projects.

· Ability to identify and resolve design, coordination, and constructability issues.

· Ability to interpret and implement technical instructions, building codes, and permitting requirements.
