IT Tech Support at Jim Burke Ford Lincoln
Position Summary
The IT Support Specialist plays a hands-on role in supporting daily technology operations across two automotive dealership locations. Working closely with the IT Manager and a Managed IT Service Provider, this position delivers responsive, customer-focused technical support to ensure team members remain productive. The role supports end users, dealership systems, and basic infrastructure needs while following security and compliance standards. Success in this position requires strong communication skills, organization, and a service-oriented mindset in a fast-paced, onsite dealership environment.
Essential Functions
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, including all important aspects of the job whether performed daily, weekly, monthly, or annually; and any duty that occurs at irregular intervals.
- Provide first-level technical support to team members across two onsite dealership locations via tickets, phone, and in‑person assistance
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, phones, mobile devices, and basic network connectivity
- Support users with Microsoft 365, email, and dealership-specific applications and systems
- Set up, configure, and maintain user accounts, computers, and mobile devices for onboarding and offboarding
- Maintain accurate inventory and tracking of IT equipment and assets
- Provide basic support for dealership systems (DMS, CRM, service and parts applications) and escalate issues as needed
- Coordinate with the IT Manager and Managed IT Service Provider to resolve escalated system, network, or infrastructure issues
- Assist with basic network and hardware troubleshooting, including Wi‑Fi, printing, and equipment replacements
- Follow IT security policies, assist with MFA enforcement, access controls, and report security concerns
- Provide basic troubleshooting support for EV charging stations and escalate vendor-related or technical issues
- All other duties as assigned or directed
Minimum Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in an IT support, help desk, or desktop support role
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows operating systems, and common productivity tools
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, peripherals, and troubleshooting techniques
- Familiarity with basic networking concepts (Wi‑Fi, connectivity, printers)
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non‑technical users
- Ability to manage multiple requests, stay organized, and follow through on tasks
- Willingness to work onsite across two dealership locations
- Ability to learn dealership systems, applications, and IT security procedures
