- Under the guidance of the Assistant Athletic Director for Sport Science and Sport Performance, develop and implement sport performance programs for assigned teams
- Maintain CSCCa and/or NSCA Certification and CPR/AED/First Aid certification
- Instruct student-athletes on proper technique and execution of Olympic lifts, free weight exercises, flexibility/mobility exercises, plyometric training, agility movements, speed development, conditioning, and all other aspects of sport training for assigned sports
- Work with the Olympic Sports S&C leadership and sport coaches to organize and direct team training logistics
- Collaborate with the Assistant Athletic Director for Sport Science and Sport Performance to understand and utilize available training and performance technology
- Implement performance testing protocols to collect objective measurements and criteria specific data for assigned sports
- Follow all Olympic Sports Performance policies and procedures
- Communicate daily and collaborate with the sports medicine staff to ensure a safe and effective training environment for each athlete
- Act as a liaison to Sports Nutrition for assigned teams
- Foster effective communication between the strength staff, sport coaches, athletes, and administration
- Assist in managing weight room organization, cleanliness, and appearance
- Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director for Sport Science and Sport Performance and the Director of Olympic Sports S&C
Education and Certifications
- A Bachelor’s degree is necessary .
- A Master’s Degree is preferred .
Experience and Skills
- 1 year of related collegiate sports performance experience is necessary.
- 2+ years of collegiate sports performance experience is preferred.
- Prior experience leading a team’s strength and conditioning efforts is necessary.
- Prior experience leading strength and conditioning efforts for Track & Field/Cross Country is preferred.
- Prior experience using athlete monitoring and testing tools is preferred.
- Professional Certification through the CSCCA or NSCA is necessary.
- CPR/AED Certification is necessary.
- Must be organized, detail oriented, and must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with athletics staff and student athletes.
- The ability to work a non-standard work week including nights, weekends, & holidays is necessary.
