Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies (BHHC), Workers Compensation Division, is seeking an experienced workers' compensation
Defense Attorney to join its in-house Legal department. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of California workers' compensation law, excellent communication, negotiation, deposition and litigation skills, and recent trial experience.
This professional will partner closely with our Claims Adjusting staff in our Sacramento, CA office, providing counsel on open cases and educating them on common legal issues within the workers compensation industry, in conjunction with managing case strategy and appearances for an assigned caseload.

Required Qualifications
- Law degree (JD or LLM) from an accredited law school.
- Active California State Bar membership.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience defending workers' compensation cases in Northern California.

Compensation
The pay scale for this position is $152,590 - $193,660. This pay scale is an estimate of the salary range the employer reasonably expects to pay for the position based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs, and other considerations consistent with applicable law. The actual salary may be above or below the range. The pay scale applies only to this position and only if it is filled in Sacramento, California. The pay scale may be different for other positions or in other locations.
