The Benefits and Payroll Specialist is responsible for all aspects of payroll administration, as well as troubleshooting and resolving any payroll issues that may arise. This role also is responsible for the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending and health savings accounts, 403b plan, and the administration of Evergreen Health’s Wellness Program.
This is an on-site position in Buffalo, N.Y.
As part of the essential functions of this role, the Benefits and Payroll Specialist:
- Responsible for payroll processing on a semi-monthly basis, which includes sending out timecard completion/approval reminders, reviewing timecards for accuracy, entering employee reimbursements into ADP, previewing and finalizing payroll, and transferring retirement funds to our 403b platform
- Ensures the completion and accuracy of all benefit and retirement enrollments, changes, and terminations; conducts meetings with new hires to answer questions, and provides assistance in enrolling employee benefits/retirement plan if warranted; ensures medical files are complete by the time of the employee's first payroll deduction for benefits
- Manages the open enrollment process, including employee communications, benefits education, enrollment administration, vendor coordination, and issue resolution to ensure a seamless employee experience
Qualified candidate will have at least two (2) years of experience in Human Resources, including payroll and benefits; full proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and payroll systems required; ADP Workforce Now experience strongly preferred; associate degree in Human Resources or related field and or HR certification preferred; awareness of and sensitivity to the issues and health disparities faced by underserved populations is essential
