The Human Resource Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support the effective and efficient operations of the organizations human resource department. The HR Assistant also supports the recruiting and hiring process by assisting Human Resources and hiring managers with administrative and coordination tasks to ensure an efficient, organized, and professional candidate experience throughout the recruitment and onboarding process.

Duties/Responsibilities

Answers frequently asked questions from employees relative to standard policies, benefits, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate HR staff or management.

Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.

Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.

May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.

Following up with all new employees after 30 days to see how they are adjusting

Conduct exit interviews with voluntarily terminated employees

Implements new hire orientation with new employees

Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.

Assists with recruiting efforts including posting open positions on job boards and company career pages

Screens Resumes And Applications For Minimum Qualifications

Coordinates and schedules candidate interviews with hiring managers

Conducts initial phone screenings

Maintains applicant tracking systems (ATS) and updates candidate statuses

Communicates professionally with candidates throughout the hiring process

Assists with preparing offer letters and pre-employment documentation

Coordinates background checks, drug screenings, and employment verifications

Assists with recruiting events, job fairs, and hiring initiatives

Maintains recruiting records and ensures compliance with hiring procedures

Supports hiring managers with interview coordination and recruiting logistics
