Position Summary
Machinists operate 2-5 axis CNC/Automated machine cells as well as standalone machines, which require basic machine setup including preparing and setting up fixtures and cutting tools, as well as loading and adjusting CNC programs and offsets. Machinist competencies include using more advanced quality inspection tools and techniques such as height, air gauge, and bench inspection. The machinist will have basic competencies in print reading and common CNC G and M codes. May work in one of the three areas: CNC, Turning, or Screw Machine. Typically, 2-5 years of experience. (Gateway and secondary operations, not necessarily CNC).
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Perform sets up and operate CNC machining equipment, lathe or mills.
Perform basic setup operations, including fixtures, cutting tools, and CNC programs.
Produces parts in accordance with production rates and quality standards.
Maintain product quality by monitoring and adjusting CNC offsets as needed.
Perform inspection tasks of intermediate complexity interacting with drawings and more advanced inspection tools.
Observes and listens to machine operations to detect malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools.
Replaces and adjust cutting tools, as needed.
Meets production demands.
Run production on multiple machines at once. (Primary & Secondary)
Required Skills
Ability to read, write and speak the English language
The ability to identify and correctly load and secure fixtures with minimal assistance.
A working knowledge of G and M codes applied in setting and adjusting offsets and interacting with CNC programs.
A working knowledge of shop math, including tool geometry, positive and negative numbers, and basic geometry.
The ability to read basic prints in English and apply basic dimensional specifications to inspection processes.
Required Experience
Typically, this position requires evidence of success in level one machining duties for at least one year before promotion or hire.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $23.75 to $35.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
