MRI Tech at Elite Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center
At Elite Sports Medicine & Orthopedics, our MRI Technologists play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care by producing high-quality diagnostic images that support accurate physician diagnoses and treatment plans. This PRN position is ideal for a compassionate, detail-oriented professional who is committed to patient safety, clinical excellence, and teamwork.
Essential Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Welcome patients and provide a professional, compassionate experience from arrival through completion of the exam.
- Explain MRI procedures, answer patient questions, and help ease any concerns prior to imaging.
- Prepare and position patients to obtain optimal diagnostic images while ensuring comfort and safety.
- Perform MRI examinations according to physician orders and established imaging protocols.
- Produce and transmit high-quality diagnostic images while following all MRI safety standards.
- Accurately document completed examinations and maintain patient records.
Imaging & Equipment
- Operate all MRI equipment within the practice safely and efficiently.
- Import outside imaging studies into the PACS system as needed.
- Transfer imaging studies to discs or other media when requested.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns promptly.
- Assist with maintaining MRI safety policies and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels of radiology supplies and communicate ordering needs to leadership.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe imaging environment.
Professional & Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong understanding of physician imaging preferences and anatomical positioning.
- Remain current on MRI technology, safety practices, and industry standards through continuing education.
- Maintain proficiency with PACS, EMR, and practice management software.
- Attend required CPR, OSHA, CLIA, and other mandatory training programs.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute ideas to improve patient care and workflow.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff to provide outstanding patient care.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the needs of the practice.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma required
- Certified Radiologic Technologist license required
- Certified MRI license required
- Training in orthopedics a plus
- Experience working in the MRI industry
- Complete understanding of MRI techniques and associated physics
- Working knowledge of managed care basics, and experience working with a managed care and Medicare population
- Comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications
- Knowledge of practice management and word processing software
- Pleasant speaking voice and demeanor
- Good communication skills
- Neat, professional appearance
