Job Summary
Nidec US Motors, a division of Nidec Motor Corporation, seeks an Application Engineer I. This role encompasses delivering technical and commercial support for engineered motors and active participation in new business development endeavors, spanning from RFQ to successful negotiation outcomes.
The Application Engineer I harnesses in-depth engineering expertise and fosters valuable client relationships to bolster regional accounts, substantially influencing software revenue. Additionally, they play a pivotal role in assisting customers in resolving intricate engineering challenges by utilizing software products. This position encompasses providing technical pre-sales support across the entire sales process.
Key Qualifications
Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Ability to communicate technical information.
Familiarity with industry standards and specifications.
Responsibilities
Act as the primary point of contact for customer support, providing technical and commercial solutions for engineered motors.
Craft precise proposals for Nidec US Motors' product offerings, ensuring meticulous review of the provided information.
Provide essential technical and commercial training and mentorship to team members.
Assume a leadership role in managing quotations and opportunities.
Independently gather direct feedback from customers.
Execute calculations using engineering software.
Contribute to the development of new product lines.
Coordinate projects and customer developments.
Efficiently manage and monitor project pipelines.
Skillfully prepare and present technical and commercial proposals.
Education
Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent related experience.
Knowledge/Training
Proficiency in MS Office Applications.
Familiarity with industry standards and specifications.
Familiarity with JD Edwards, Ansys, and Oracle for daily work-related activities and transactions is a plus
Ability to calculate product profitability and return on invested capital (ROIC).
Leadership skills in meetings.
