The Shuck Truck is a Portland area food truck located at Level Beer. We serve local sustainable seafood, with a primary focus on oysters on the half shell.

The shucking apprentice will begin as a cashier and expedite orders. As time allows, the Shuck-prentice will learn shucking skills and other menu prep opportunities, such as hot and cold stations. As a farm-to-table food truck, we are looking for team members with similar values to represent our establishment. Evening and weekend availability is necessary.

  • Ability to accurately run the POS system and troubleshoot issues that arise with it, including reaching out for help.

  • Willingness to learn all culinary and POS procedures.

  • Can complete basic production tasks w/minimal supervision and guidance.

  • Steward of resources and vision of Tidal Boar Foods: Ability to communicate with consumers and articulate vision. Manages difficult/challenging service situations with grace and dignity. Asks for help when needed. An ability to express the human relationship in connection with the meaning of sustainability, as demonstrated in our product.

  • Initiates and predicts production needs of team members.

  • Curious about processes and procedures in ordering, costs & margins, mechanical operation unit and equipment. Focus and priority is running POS and customer engagement, when slow and time allows, education of policies will take place.

  • Follows down time procedures, staying engaged in work and on task w/minimal supervision.

Opportunity for quick advancement to Shucker 1 (17-21/hr wage) position based on 90 day review.
