Social Media and Marketing Manager

Position Overview
The Wichita Thunder are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and results-driven Social Media and Marketing Manager to lead the organization's digital marketing efforts with one primary objective: driving revenue. This position is responsible for creating and executing marketing strategies that increase ticket sales, generate qualified leads, enhance the value of corporate partnerships, and grow fan engagement across all digital platforms. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced sports environment and understands how to turn creative content into measurable business results. In addition to leading the team's social media strategy and supporting all marketing initiatives, this individual will oversee the execution and reporting of corporate partnership deliverables, ensuring every campaign contributes to the organization's revenue goals.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Management
- Develop, plan, and implement a content calendar across all major platforms (Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube).
- Create engaging content that drives fan interaction, brand awareness, and ticket sales.
- Produce and edit short-form videos for digital use.
- Live post during home games and community appearances.
- Track analytics and engagement metrics. Plan, launch, and manage Meta advertising campaigns
Marketing & Promotions
- Assist in developing and executing the team’s seasonal marketing strategy, digital, radio, and grassroots campaigns.
- Help manage game-day promotional planning including theme nights, giveaways, and fan engagement ideas.
- Assist in coordination of text campaigns.
- Support community relations efforts, school programs, mascot appearances, and off-site activations.
Corporate Fulfillment
- Maintain accurate tracking and documentation of sponsor deliverables.
- Build recap reports and presentation decks for partner renewals and season reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, sports management, or related field is preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in digital marketing, social media, or sponsorship fulfillment.
- Proficient in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or other content creation tools.
- Excellent writing, storytelling, and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities with attention to detail. Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the team schedule
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with CRM or sponsorship tracking platforms.
- Basic photography or video shooting/editing abilities.
- Creative thinker with a passion for fan engagement and brand building. Prior experience in the sports industry
