Job Details

  • Location: Uptown Chicago
  • Specifications: This role oversees 2 Class Multifamily Buildings (84 & 176 units).
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday
  • Emergency coverage: on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies
  • Compensation: $20 - $24/hr + Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with employer match, and paid time off (PTO).

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete resident service requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform routine repairs including plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, carpentry, and appliance troubleshooting.
  • Assist with HVAC maintenance and basic diagnostics.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance shop, common areas, storage areas.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
  • Support unit turns, including, fixture replacement.
  • Assist with groundskeeping and snow removal as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.

Requirements

  • General maintenance experience in residential or multifamily housing.
  • Basic working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance repair.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Good customer service and communication skills.
  • Availability to participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical tasks.
  • Knowledge of building safety standards and local housing codes.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
