JOB LOCATION: 945 22 nd Avenue, Oakland, CA 94606 | 20–24 hours/week | $28.91–$32.11/hour + $1/hour Spanish-speaking differential

Marin Humane is looking for an enthusiastic, organized, and relationship-focused Volunteer Engagement Coordinator to support our Hopalong Foster Program. If you’re passionate about building community, inspiring volunteers, and making a direct impact on the lives of homeless animals, we’d love to meet you.
In this rewarding role, you’ll recruit, train, support, and recognize an incredible team of volunteers who help make Marin Humane’s lifesaving work possible. From onboarding new volunteers to coordinating adoption events, fostering programs, and volunteer communications, you’ll play a vital role in creating a positive volunteer experience while helping more animals find loving homes.
What You'll Do
- Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new volunteers
- Coordinate volunteers supporting animal care, foster programs, transport, office tasks, and mobile adoption events
- Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective volunteers
- Manage volunteer records and scheduling through Volgistics
- Create engaging volunteer communications, including the weekly Hopalong Happenings blog
- Recognize and support volunteers while helping them succeed
- Collaborate with Marin Humane staff to strengthen and grow our volunteer program
We're Looking For Someone To
- Passionate about animal welfare and community engagement
- An exceptional communicator with outstanding customer service skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple priorities
- Comfortable leading orientations, presentations, and volunteer trainings
- Skilled at building positive relationships and resolving challenges with empathy
- Experienced managing volunteers (preferred, but not required)
- Familiar with Microsoft Office; Volgistics experience is a plus

- $28.91/hr to $32.11/hr – non exempt
