Children's Behavioral Health Technician at COMMUNITY SERVICES FOR EVERY1 INC

We are looking for professional candidates in the North towns and Niagara County who are self-motivated and organized to manage a caseload of Child HCBS (Home & Community Based Services). This position provides a family-driven, youth guided model of care that emphasizes and supports a child/youth’s potential by optimizing quality of life and reducing symptoms of mental illness and substance use disorders.

Services are provided to a person in their own home or within their community. Services follow these core principles: Person-centered, recovery-oriented, data-driven, evidence-based, trauma-informed, culturally competent, flexible and mobile, inclusive of social networks and should be provided with coordination and collaboration of natural supports and other service providers.

1. Education and Experience

a. Associate’s degree

b. 1-year of relevant experience working with children/youth; or 1-year relevant experience working with individuals with substance abuse disorders and/or SMI.

2. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

a. Knowledge of the behavioral health system.

b. Knowledge of substance abuse disorders.

c. Knowledge of community resources within Erie County.

d. Good oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.

3. Successful completion of Required Training

a. Mandated Reporting

b. Corporate Compliance

c. HIPPA and confidentiality

d. Community Safety

e. All other training assigned.

4. Be authorized as an Agency Driver by

a. Holding and maintaining a valid NYS Driver’s License.

b. Maintaining an approved driving record according to Agency Policy and Procedure

c. Use of personal vehicle for work purposes; hold and maintain insurance as an insured driver of that personal vehicle.

5. Clearance under Verifications and Screenings

a. National, State and local criminal background checks.

b. Clearance through NYS Central Child Abuse and Maltreatment Register.

c. Pre-employment drug screening.

d. Approval by NYS Justice Center.

6. Physical and Mental Requirements

a. Seeing, hearing, walking, sitting, standing, driving, stooping, bending, carrying, stretching, and climbing stairs and may include manual labor such as sweeping, mopping, mowing grass.

b. Lifting up to thirty (30) pounds.

c. Exercising independent judgment, concentrating, thinking, communicating, interacting with others, managing multiple tasks and coping with stressful situations and deadlines.

d. Staying awake and alert while on duty.

WORKING CONDITIONS

1. Hours vary and are set according to the needs of the individual/family. May include early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

2. Local travel required approximately 100% of the time.
