We are currently looking for a Paratransit Schedule Planner to join our team!!

Summary

This Position is responsible for conducting scheduling, daily scheduled review, analysis, optimization and customer communications of Access Link’s certified disabled customers' demand response transportation needs.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Analyzes schedules produced by TRAPEZE PASS for efficiency and for optimum run/tour usage, productivity, appropriate customer service delivery and to make recommendations for service parameter changes.
  • Prepares and coordinated transfer trips for accurate regional destination, and/or redefines “best bus” options within predefined geographical buffer zones as appropriate to maximize schedules.
  • Prepares reports for analysis and follows through on all statistical information requested within established department deadlines.
  • Coordinates and optimizes live day group trips in advance for scheduling efficiency, while maintaining communication with regional service providers and other departments.
  • Participates in meetings with service regional provider managers and scheduling personnel, as well as ADA staff to make recommendations for changes necessary for efficient, effective service. Proposes operational changes to achieve optimal productivity and on-time performance levels.
  • Performs future and same-day review and modification of the daily schedules produced from PASS and analyzes template itineraries and actual itineraries utilizing AVL records.
  • Works in conjunction with the Sr. Schedule Planner and other ADA staff to represent the scheduling group on regional run cuts creation, analysis, and maintenance to ensure customer service provider and NJ TRANSIT goals are achieved.
  • Prepares and processes schedule matching function and periodic batch schedules to achieve operational efficiency and on-time performance.
  • Process and coordinates customer subscriptions standing orders creation, optimization, and maintenance according to Access Link standing order methodology, parameters, and weighted system properties.
  • Receives and reviews customer email, telephone and web requests for initial standing orders, changes to existing standing order records, and other general inquiries. Validates trip information using a computerized digital map, and/or performs research of geographical locations statewide, and interprets trip itineraries to determine trip eligibility and fares.
  • Analyzes proposals to modify or adapt Access Link service areas or speed zones in coordination with NJ TRANSIT local fixed route bus (shadowed routes).
  • Plans service policies, procedures, and operational practices with full understanding of client’s eligibility and ADA rights.
  • Performs other duties as operational needs dictate and as required by ADA Services.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and three (3) years of applied work experience for each year of education.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Paratransit or Fixed Route transportation scheduling, service monitoring, or dispatching is required.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience with computerized paratransit scheduling software (Trapeze) at scheduler or service monitor level (dispatcher) is required. Must be able to make independent decisions based on consideration of multiple variables for obtaining and applying optimal and coordinated scheduling solutions. Ability to use Microsoft Office software applications. Advanced proficiency in Excel and Word strongly desired. Excellent verbal written and presentation skills required. Must be able to meet crucial deadlines while managing numerous responsibilities. Ability to cooperate and work effectively with a team.
  • Must be able to work weekends and shift work if applicable.
