Role Description

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Henderson, NV, responsible for providing strategic direction and overall management of St. Jude’s Ranch for Children. The CEO oversees organizational strategy, program development, and operational execution to ensure alignment with the mission, vision, and core values. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading the executive team, managing budgets and financial performance, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and maintaining high standards of accountability and transparency. The CEO builds and sustains relationships with donors, partners, community organizations, and key stakeholders, while actively participating in fundraising and advocacy efforts. This role also focuses on cultivating a positive workplace culture, supporting staff development, and promoting inclusive, trauma-informed services for children, young adults, and families.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated executive leadership experience in nonprofit, social services, child welfare, or related fields, with a track record of strategic planning and organizational growth.
  • Strong financial management and business acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and overseeing fiscally responsible operations.
  • Experience in fundraising, donor relations, and community engagement, including cultivating partnerships and representing the organization publicly.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and support diverse teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, child and family services, and regulatory requirements relevant to youth-serving organizations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with boards, staff, donors, and community stakeholders.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and respect for the dignity, beliefs, and diversity of all people.
  • Advanced degree in nonprofit management, business administration, social work, public administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and leadership experience considered.
  • Ability to work on-site in Henderson, NV, and travel
