As the Director of Adjunctive Therapy, you will play a key leadership role in developing innovative therapeutic programming while supporting both patients and staff in a collaborative behavioral health environment.
Position Summary
The Director of Adjunctive Therapy oversees the delivery and management of quality adjunctive therapy services, ensuring evidence-based programming that enhances patient treatment. This leadership position supervises therapeutic staff, manages department operations, supports quality improvement initiatives, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary treatment team to promote exceptional patient outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the Adjunctive Therapy Department.
- Recruit, mentor, train, and evaluate department staff.
- Develop and oversee therapeutic programming for adolescent and adult behavioral health patients.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, nursing, social services, and treatment teams.
- Monitor department performance and quality improvement initiatives.
- Manage departmental budget, supplies, and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, infection control, and safety requirements.
- Foster a positive, patient-centered culture focused on recovery and wellness.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a related field, including:
- Recreational Therapy
- Music Therapy
- Art Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Or another related therapeutic discipline
Experience
Preferred qualifications include:
- Leadership experience in an inpatient behavioral health setting.
- Staff supervision, coaching, and performance management.
- Knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses and treatment interventions.
- Strong communication, organization, crisis intervention, and time management skills.
- Experience with quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Licensure & Requirements
- Current certification or licensure (or eligibility) in applicable therapeutic discipline.
- Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
- Fingerprint clearance and negative TB test/medical clearance, drug screen and physical.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
