We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented SHEQ Coordinator to support and strengthen our Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality programs across the Greater New Orleans area including our sites in New Orleans, Mid-City, Houma, Slidell and the Westbank.

Your Responsibilities

  • Strongly focused on an industrial setting ensuring compliance with OSHA and EPA standards.
  • Assist the Facility Manager/site personnel with implementation and execution of site, corporate, and regulatory requirements
  • Promote SHEQ awareness by building on existing culture and program strengths, contributing communication with all level employees, and promoting positive reinforcement of safety and health rules and regulations.
  • Manage Site Safety Plans and SDS database
  • Conduct formal and informal site audits, job audits, and routine facility audits as needed or as directed.
  • Assist SHEQ/Operations teams in the execution of SHEQ procedures documenting findings, corrective actions, and tracking of closure items identified.
  • Provide site specific safety/new hire orientation, personnel training, and manage database to track current training within designated terminals.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.

What you'll Need

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • 3+ years of SHEQ experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards and hazard recognition injury management skills and written and verbal communication skills as they pertain to OSHA, NFPA, NEC, ANSI, State and Local rules.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting, tracking and reporting.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Professional safety and/or IH certifications highly desired but not required

Education/Experience

  • A BS degree in a technical discipline, such as environmental science or engineering, or equivalent job experience is required.
  • Working knowledge of Federal, State, and Local/City occupational safety, health, waste, storm water, air, and wastewater regulations.
  • Technical experience in evaluating multi-media environmental regulations and developing company-specific procedures and guidelines that meet the intent of those regulations.
