Technical Publications Writer, U-2 - Level 2 at Lockheed Martin
Basic Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of aircraft operation and maintenance.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, commercial technical manuals, technical drawings, and/or schematics
- Experience with markup language authoring (Knowledgeable in element and attribute XML tagging for S1000D-compliant interactive electronic publications)
You will be the U-2 Technical Publications Writer - Level 2 for the Technical Publications Team which is responsible for authoring maintenance instructions for a complex aircraft.
What You Will Be Doing
As the U-2 Technical Publications Writer - Level 2 you will be responsible for authoring maintenance instructions for a complex aircraft and ensuring technical accuracy.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Develop and deliver technically accurate maintenance documentation both independently and with a team.
- Verify and certify publication content to meet corrective measures and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering and customer support representatives to gather needed data.
- Translate engineering technical data into clear maintenance instructions.
- Business Travel as required to support program needs.

Further Information About This Opportunity
MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.

- Exceptional attention to detail
- Previous aircraft maintenance background
- Familiar with the Tech Order system and/or experience with Technical Publications software
- Experience evaluating technical order changes
- Ability to travel as needed
- Bachelors degree from accredited college in related field preferred
